Suspended Paintings

A series of forty paintings was created in Rotterdam as a gift for the Gynecology/Obstetrics Department of the Prague University Hospital. The paintings were to be installed in the public areas of the hospital. The gift, which was originally received with enthusiasm, was suspended by the order of the hospital´s legal services: changes in the ownership of the hospital led to a freeze in hospital acquisitions. So far, the paintings were never installed.
These paintings, which represent motives from the world´s most renowned contemporary art, intentionally re-code and esthetisize these motives in order to make them more accessible to the lay public.
